An informal monthly gathering of people to participate in group meditation, followed by a brief presentation on related spiritual topics with open discussion. Meditation from 7:00-7:30. Discussion from 7:30-8:30. No specific meditation practice is required; practitioners of all paths are welcome. Questions for topical discussion are welcome from all group members; those without previous meditation practice may receive meditation instructions on request. Chairs will be provided for those who do not sit on the floor; meditation will consist of 30 minutes of silence. Please arrive for meditation before 7:00.
Dr. Lee Irwin will give the brief topical presentation and act as group coordinator. Author of Visionary Worlds, Awakening to Spirit, Alchemy of Soul, Dr. Lee Irwin is a teacher, workshop leader, ritual practitioner and editor of the series, Exploration in Contemporary Spirituality, for SUNY Press. He teaches in the Religious Studies Program at the College of Charleston.
