| | “If you want to Dance, you must Play; If you want to Play, you must Sing, If you want to Sing, you must Dance!” - Babatunde Olatunji
Singing and dancing are the oldest spiritual practices weaving the fabric of community life in tribes and villages around the planet.
Join Ellen and Daphne for this powerful community gathering as we tune our instruments through SpiritDancing and Soulsinging. So many of us are waking up and realizing that we can restore and revitalize ourselves through both spiritual and physical fitness. We can be our own physicians and enjoy keeping ourselves in a state of dynamic well-being while having fun!
So many of us feel fear when we think of singing before others, or dancing when anyone is watching. Knowing these fears themselves, Ellen and Daphne share with you their secrets for empowerment through these practices.
Ellen will ignite our dance inspired by Gabrielle Roth’s ecstatic dance practice, The 5 Rhythms Wave: “The Rhythms are a map to everywhere we want to go, on all planes, inner and outer, forward and back, physical, emotional and intellectual. They are markers on the way, back to a real self, a vulnerable, wild, passionate, instinctive self.” - Gabrielle Roth
In addition to the profound insight available to us in this moving meditation practice, we have fun, laugh, cry, share, write and spend time in silence. And, who among us doesn’t long to sing our hearts out? Speaking or singing in public is the number one fear of humanity…even greater than fear of death is “speaking or singing in assembly”. Under Daphne’s sweet and loving guidance, each of us will ‘find our voice’ and become empowered to explore sound and song as means of self-expression and keeping our instruments tuned.
The marriage of sound, song & dance supports healing from the core outward. Something out of the ordinary happens when we move from speaking to singing. As soon as sound is spilling from the mouth, the breath, heart, mind and body resonate together. We come home, breathe deeper, we smile, we sing again. This catalyzes an inner recognition of something infinitely precious.
Do one thing everyday that scares you… Come Dance, Sing and Express Yourself during this inspiring weekend retreat! |
