Women are the largest untapped resource on the planet. The problems our world faces today will be solved only with the rise of women into full partnership with men in the domain of human affairs.

Imagine an extraordinary gathering of women awakening to their full potential and becoming powerful co-creative agents for change. The Sophia Institute’s Women of Wisdom gathering will welcome women from all over the world for a weekend of celebration and exploration with evolutionary leaders and teachers as we re-imagine and co-create our lives.

We are living in a profound moment in human history. More and more women are waking to what they are called to on the deepest levels and willing to be catalysts to create a more conscious world. How can we use our individual gifts and talents to be part of the incredible transformation happening in women’s lives and in the world? How can we deepen our partnerships with men to be effective co-creators of the future? What new pathways and practices will give us access to co-creative ways of being that foster our full potential?

His Holiness the Dalai Lama stunned a sold-out audience at his Peace Summit in Vancouver last summer when he proclaimed, “The world will be saved by the western woman.” Maria Shriver’s 2009 conference, “Women, the Architects of Change” drew 24,000 women and was sold out soon after registration opened. Claire Zammit and Katherine Woodward Thomas’s tele-seminar, “Women on the Edge of Evolution: Awakening to the Power to Co-create our Lives and Shape our Collective Future” drew 55,000+ women. The Sophia Institute is drawing participants from 49 states and three countries to join us in Charleston, South Carolina. Something really big is happening, and the Feminine is at its heart.

Join us here, in historic Charleston – for a global gathering of women working with these extraordinary evolutionary women leaders – as we begin to transform our lives, our relationships, our workplaces, and our communities, to live and lead with heart and wisdom.

If you are called to join us, you are a Woman of Wisdom. Please do join us.

Explore. Create. Join us. Pass it on.

Big Conversations

Soul Fire: A Talk and Conversation with Sera Beak about the Feminine Divine
Tuition: $20 in advance; $30 at the door

Location: International African American Museum, 130 Logan Street.
“The loss of soul connection, loss of connection to our femininity, may be the real cause of our anguished condition” - Marion Woodman

Most of us are acquainted with only the upper half of the Universe (our masculine Spirit) and this planet is suffering as a result. It’s time to go downtown with our divinity and get up close and personal with the Universe’s other half (some might even say “better half” depending on what’s going on in their lives), our feminine Soul. Our divine feminine Soul holds our true purpose, that which will unleash our creativity, jump start our red hearts, set our eyelashes on fire and help us be of greater service. Our Soul is extraordinarily essential to recognize, embrace, and share for our entire planet’s evolution, but reacquainting ourselves with our Soul is not always an easy path. In this fiery, humorous and intimate talk, Sera shares invigorating research from her forthcoming book, Redvolution: Unleashing The Red Hot and Holy Feminine, and her personal story of learning how to voice her Soul and walk her divine feminine talk.

The Genius of Women: A Conversation with Sue Monk Kidd and Ann Kidd Taylor about the Power of Women to Change the World

It is now widely recognized that the largest untapped resource on the planet is women and that the problems in our world cannot be solved without the massive involvement of women. In response to this cutting-edge awareness, a groundswell of women's genius has begun to emerge. What is the particular genius of women? How does a woman tap this genius in herself and apply it in the sacred enterprise of becoming an architect of change? These questions and others will be at the heart of a rare and unique conversation between Sue Monk Kidd and her daughter, Ann Kidd Taylor. The two women will speak across generations, probing each other's minds and hearts about the creation of a new culture of feminine genius actuated on behalf of the world. They will speak personally about the search for their own 'genius' and their struggles to transmute their passions into forces of change.

A message from Carolyn Rivers, Founder and Director, The Sophia Institute

We are living in potent times, full of challenge and also of opportunity. It may be that the great heart of the world is cracking open before us, shifting everything with it, directing us into a whole new way of living and being in the world that honors the oneness of all things and brings the sacred back to the center of life. It is a time of great evolutionary shift guided by Sophia, Divine Wisdom, when the feminine impulse is coming into balance with the masculine and bringing with it a radical wisdom of the heart. It has the potential to bring forth much-needed healing and wholeness, peace, interdependence and oneness, compassion and awareness of the sacredness of the Earth, attuning us to what we already know inside, to a co-creative guidance that continually provides us with new possibilities and aligns us with a sense of dynamic purpose. It is highly transformational, causing great shifts within us as individuals, in our relationships, and in society at large.

We are exposing that which is not sustainable. Old patterns that no longer serve us, patterns of domination, aggression, greed, and control—the patterns that have created the extraordinary crisis we are now in—are beginning to be overturned. We see this in economic cataclysm, wars in the Middle East and elsewhere, social issues centered around poverty and the marginalization of peoples and cultures, most particularly women and children. We see it in the devaluation of nature and our natural resources that has us now on the edge of environmental disaster, in the exposure of corporate greed and governmental influence. Yet, exposing it all gives us the opportunity to find solutions which cannot be born of the old mindset, but come from a new, more wisdom-based way of thinking found in both women and men. These new patterns, guided by Divine Wisdom, need to be cultivated consciously by those of us who see the need to do so most clearly, working collaboratively to amplify our work.

Aligning with Divine Wisdom gives us access to the fullness of the Divine nature. Not just the masculine nature, so strongly held for millennia, but also the feminine, which must be recognized and instilled to create balance within ourselves and in our world.

Please join us for Women of Wisdom: Transforming Our Lives, Transforming Our World.

All blessings,

Carolyn Rivers
