Debra Moffitt

Debra Moffitt navigated the dramatic changes of job loss in a foreign country, the end of a ten year marriage and illness by turning to meditation, periods of silence, sacred journaling, dream work, fasting and other spiritual practices to connect with the divine. Her spiritual journey took her from a Christian upbringing to exploration of religions across the globe where she discovered that forms of the divine are many, but God is one. She attended retreats with renowned Tibetan Buddhist Lama, Sogyal Rinpoche and Sri Sathya Sai Baba in India.
Debra's writing on dreams, creativity, sacred space, divine wines, architecture, travel, labyrinths, pilgrimages, mandalas, Native American wisdom, meaningful travel and the power of words have appeared in The European, Venture Inward, Faith and Form: The Journal of Art, Religion and Architecture; Hors Ligne: Luxury, Lifestyle and Adventure Magazine, Ticino Welcome, Southpark, About Faith: Southern Women on Spirituality, French Literary Review, Cha: Asian Literary Review and other publications. Her work has been broadcast globally by BBC World Services and she is the author of Awake in the World: 108 Practices to Live a Divinely Inspired Life (Llewellyn Worldwide). Her collection of short stories, Riviera Stories: Just Below the Surface will be published in 2012.
