In order to live a life of compassion, connection and health, a life of personal and professional success, the first prerequisite is that we learn to listen.
It is only with the skill of mindful, conscious listening that we are open to the information and wisdom that continually flows to us. We are able to receive it through the concrete conduits such as our bodies, the nature world and our relationships with others as well as through the more subtle pathways such as dreams and intuition.
And yet, in a world in which we are overwhelmed and assaulted by noise and the business of activity, by ego-centered thought and personal agendas, we too often have stopped listening.
How would our lives change if we committed to listening deeply to ourselves, each other, our bodies and our planet? How would our health and relationships be transformed? How would our culture change if government and industry leaders listened with the clear intent to really hear what others were saying without filtering their voices through the scrim of personal agendas? More importantly, how can we reclaim this critically important skill at the heart of health, creativity, self-discovery and true connection?
This retreat will focus on exploring the many levels of listening, the ways in which to open our senses to receive knowledge and factors such as fear and defensiveness that often keep us from such deep listening.
